The b-Shack is coming

As a follow-up to the hugely successful ContemPLAY pavilion, the SSHRC-funded research through creation initiative, MMOT, is sponsoring the development of this year's FARMMhouse--the b-Shack. The b-Shack is a proposed design-build project associated with the SSHRC-funded ‘Modeling the Methodologies of Our Time’ research initiative currently underway in the Facility for Architectural Research in Media and Mediation. The b-Shack is a part of the FARMMhouse series of projects that offer the opportunity for students to learn and explore advanced scripting, digital fabrication and mass customization techniques at an architectural scale through applied research. Every two years, graduate students in architecture and related creative fields are invited to apply to participate in the yearlong FARMMhouse project. FARMM is searching for potential participants in the b-Shack project for 2012-13. If you are a School of Architecture professional and post-professional graduate students or in a design-related discipline and think you might like to join the b-Shack project team, please attend an information session at 17:30h in FARMM, Macdonald-Harrington room 115a. on 10 September, 2012
