FARMM is the Facility for Architectural Research in Media and Mediation.
FARMM includes an administrative and technical staff alongside state of the art computation, networking, telepresence, simulation & imaging, and fabrication infrastructure. FARMM occupies a unique position in the School of Architecture by providing a flexible platform upon which applied research as well as emerging technologies can be explored and developed.
FARMM was created within the McGill School of Architecture in September of 2008 by Founding Director, Professor Michael Jemtrud, supported by a Canada Foundation for Innovation grant. FARMM has since expanded its interdisciplinary relationships and infrastructure through the addition of state-of-the-art technologies and a wide range of research programs.
